Saturday, December 19, 2015 -- Month #10 - Week #44 - Day #306 - El Dorado, La Entrada, Copan

This morning was all crazy between key finding and interviews and all that, we finished interviews finally at 2:30 pm. Then we stayed at the church to help the members get ready for the Christmas Activity that night, so we helped engineer how to build a stable from bamboo and palm leaves, actually turned out really well. And as we were helping the Primary kids make cookies, the light went out. Again. It had already gone out from 11:00 am - 3:00 pm, and then went out again at 4:00 pm. Grrr. So that made it really hard to bake the cookies. And it gets dark here at 5:30 pm, and we had to wait until the light came back, which it finally did at 7:00 pm. So we just talked to the members and played with someone's pet dog and waited. I also made some paper crowns for one of the presentations. I loved how the guys asked me if I could do it: "Hna, can you draw?" "Uh, sure, what do you need me to draw?" "Well, we actually need you to make 3 crowns for the wise men." "Alright, that's fine, where's the paper at?" As if drawing skills are an important prerequisite for crown-making. So that was kinda funny, I had a group of amazed people all watching me cut out paper crowns. Yup. It's fun here.

So we finally got started on the activity, and we had to go home by then because it was late, but we got some dinner out of it so that was nice. Some kind of shredded chicken in sauce over to tortillas, really yummy.
